This exceptional moving young stallion has already started his winning ways.
Paired with the talented young rider, Christian Flamm of Hessen, Quaterback
galloped away from the competition at the Bundeschampionates in 2006.
He started his stallion career by being named Champion of his licensing in
Neustadt/Dosse in 2005.
In 2006, after the Bundeschampionates, he went on to win his 30 day test at
Neustadt/Dosse with outstanding scores:
Int. 9.0
Trot 9.25
Canter 9.75
Walk 7.63
Riding qualities 9.75
Jumping 7.7
Everybody is just awestruck by this young stallion. The 3-year old chestnut stallion Quaterback was the undisputed victor at the 2006 Bundeschampionate. He was the talk of the breeding and dressage world, but his presentation at the Althengst parade convinced everyone of his extraterrestrial potential. You can’t imagine a canter any better than Florencio’s, but you’re wrong. Quaterback is uphill, superbly engaged, elastic, stunning and unbelievable. What’s the source of all this success? Poetin’s dam Poesie. Quaterback is by Quaterman (by Quando Quando) out of Brandenberger x Brentano II. His grand dam is Poesie, who produced world champions Poetin and Samba Hit I, II, and III. This mare line has produced 23 approved stallions. Quaterback is just amazing. Rarely do we see a stallion of this quality.
Quaterbacks pedigree is steeped in the
traditions of the Brandenburgisches Landgestuet. His sire,
Quaterman,
was bred there and is by
Quando-Quando , the excellent
dressage competition stallion. In 1995 as a top colt at the
Vechta auction, continuing to become the 1c Premium winner at the stallion
approval and the undisputed winner at the stallion performance test with the
highest possible score of 10 for character and willingness to perform, a score
of 9.5 for rideability and a score of 9 for temperament, walk, trot and canter.
Highlights in sport have been participation in the Bundeschampionat finals for 5
and 6 year old dressage horses, 5th place at the World Championships in the
class for 6 year old dressage horses as well as 5th place at the Nürnberg
Burgpokal 2003, prior to which he won the VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year
Award. With first places in international Grand Prix in 2004 and winning World
Cup B finals in Dortmund , he was then nominated for the Olympic Games in
Athens.
His off-spring are very popular because of their modern, noble looks,
outstanding rideability and strong movements and they also have the good jumping
ability his pedigree promises. All of these characteristics are impressively
documented in the FN's 2004 Predicted Breeding Value statistics.
He is by the significant stallion
Quattro, whose bloodlines speak of
great jumpers, yet also super movers with power and suspension. Quattro,
himself, excelled in dressage, yet showed talent over fences. And well he should
, being by
Qredo de
Paulstro.
That sire line goes back to French blood through
Galoubet Alme Z Ibrahim, Furioso
Quattro

A French stallion with an outstanding
performance record and off-spring to prove his qualities as a sire. With a score
of more than 130, he finished his performance test in Medingen on 2 nd place. In
1994 he became the Reserve Champion Stallion at the Oldenburg approval. In the
meanwhile he has been successful internationally at shows in Caen (FRA),
Leeuwarden (NL), Berlin, Munich, Geneva (CH) and Moscow. Along with many State
Premium mares, he has also sired 13 licensed sons so far
and has supplied jumpers as well as dressage horses in series that have reached
top international level, particularly Oliver Q under Ryuichi Obata for Japan at
the Olympic Games in Athens
in 2004.
The dam line of Quaterback is a very well
known and respected mare line in Brandenburg. His dam
“Passionata”
is by the
Beach Boy son , “Brandenburger”,
who made his performanceas a jumper:
Brandenburger That sire line (Beach Boy) goes again to French blood through the
stallion Zeus.
On Brandenburgers dam line comes the excellent Hanoverian stallin Wendekreis,
admired for the excellent riding horses he produced.
Quaterbacks grand-dam is the famous mare
Poesie by Brentano II.
Poesie is best known for her Sandro
Hit daughter ,Poetin,
and also the Sandro Hit sons ,
Samba Hits I, II, III and IV!
In Quaterback, we have depth of pedigree of athletic, multi-talented
individuals. Quarterback uses his body as nothing you have ever seen. He is the
talk of the town in Germany, with movements that can only be described as
incredibly supple, strong and uphill.

Champion
Stallion of the 30 Day Test 2005 in Schlieckau
Double talent at the highest level
"This stallion
is rumored to make 'gold' horses" is what the press said about this stallion
after his approval in 2004 where he was also well received by the horsemen
assembled and applauded for his presentation. Stakkato born again – and what a
son! This especially strong type and strong moving son of the exceptional
jumper-maker, Stakkato, is in a class by himself over the jumps. He shined at
his 30 day test in Schlieckau with series of top scores and with a total score
of 8.95 he was the best stallion at the test. His ability to jump was rewarded
with the outstanding score of 9.88.
Stalypso's basic quality also profits considerably from the fact that his dam's
sire, Calypso II, is known in breeding history not only as the sire of
Contender, but also scores of top horses in breeding and sport. The quality of
his movements and his radiance were inherited from the Grenadier son, Grand
Royal, and, of course, from the unforgotten Absatz. The dam, State Premium
Caracalla, passed her performance test with outstanding results, including a
score of 8 for rideability and a 9 for jumping. She is also the dam of Streamer,
another very talented Stakkato offspring now successful in tests for jumpers up
to medium level. Other jumpers from this line are Spaceman and Chappelou as well
as the licensed stallion, Fashion Black

REFERENCE SIRES

In 2004, Quidam de Revel
topped the World Breeding Championships Jumping Stallion ratings for the second
year running, establishing himself as the pre-eminent – and most expensive –
living sire of jumping horses. With ten (10) of his progeny jumping at the WEG
in Jerez 2002, he was the stallion with the most number of progeny at this
level.
Quidam was himself a jumping star; a member of the French Olympic Team, and
fourth individually at the Barcelona Olympic Games with Herve Godignon. A year
later the patriotic French breeders were shocked when Danish businessman,
Flemming Velin purchased the stallion for a still secret sum, believed to be a
record at the time.
In an article in HORSE INTERNATIONAL (No 1 – 2003), Velin told the journalist,
Pernille Linder Velander: “I am a Thoroughbred person. Quidam is the kind of
horse that appeals to me. He is a perfect beauty. If you compare him to the
legendary Northern Dancer, you could hardly tell who is who. They could be
twins.”
But Mr Velin got more than a breeding stallion, he purchased the ultimate
‘school-master’ for his son, Thomas, taking him on to win such prestigious
events as the Grand Prix of Hannover. According to Thomas: “The feeling I got
from Quidam has taught me what it should feel like to sit on a really good
horse. If you have not had that experience, you simply cannot imagine what it
can be like. When in the air, if needed, Quidam could just… like put in another
gear, make another effort and jump higher still even after taking off from the
ground.”
Quidam de Revel unites two of the most important lines of the Selle Français
horse – the lines of Jalisco and Uriel.
Jalisco is a legend in his own right, but Quidam’s dam was also a star – Dirka,
despite being only 163 cms, won at international level with Nelson Pessoa,
before being given to Xavier Leredde who made his junior international debut on
her.
Returned to her breeder, Prince Amaury de Broglie, Dirka was bred to Sans Souci,
to produce two international competitors, Orka and Paprika de Revel, then with
Jalisco B she produced Quidam de Revel and the broodmares, Razzia and Sarah de
Revel. With Jalisco’s half brother, Kisosovo, she produced CSO winner, Vallon
Rouge, and with Narcos, Aiglon Rouge, a star in Holland. With Quat’sous, she
produced Byra Rouge, and with Pappillon Rouge, Dirka de Revel. What a mare!
Dirka’s dam, Ondine de Baugy produced five broodmares, and from them came the
stallions, Sheyenne and Sioux de Baugy. Ondine’s dam Nadine produced five foals,
all by Nankin. Troubadour B, won the 6 year old final and jumped at
international level; Uriel, the most influential national stallion of the Selle
Français book, and star of the great St Lô stud; Commander, an international
competitor for Switzerland; Daguet de Baugy, a CSI winner for Belgium, and
Voulzie, the dam of Furiel de Baugy.
Quidam’s pre-eminence as a sire was confirmed at the 2002 WEG in Jerez, where he
was the sire of more showjumping participants than any other stallion.
Current performers include: Goldy, Guidan, Circa Z, Tlalloc La Silla, Nabab de
Rêve, Dollars Boy, Hermès St Lois, Happy Villers, Jadis de Toscane, Belsedène
d’Amaury, Bamby II, Baie Mahault, Coucou des Vivreau, Demie-Lune, Darios V,

In the survey of the world's top 75 jumping sires that appears in the French publication, Monneron 2007-2008, compiled by Bernard le Courtois. Quidam de Revel is Number 1 with 48 CSI winners and he is also represented by two sons. Nabab de Reve (out of an Artichaut mare) is 18th with 14 CSI winners, while Guidam (out of a Vénutard mare) ranks 19th with 12 winners, including Authentic, second best performer in the world in 2006.
