Riding Lesson Program 2010

Safety - Proper footwear, riding helmets, tack and suitable mounts, with lessons being taught in an enclosed ring by experienced qualified coach ensure  a  high level of safety during the riding lesson. We try to place clients in riding lessons of similar age groups and skills levels.

Getting started with private/group lessons - The number of riding lessons is very dependant upon the confidence, strength and coordination of the rider and how competitive the rider wants to be. Skill development using the three gaits (walk, trot and canter), basic school figures and movements (circles, serpentines, loops, figure-of-eights etc.), trotting poles, gymnastics over fences, variety of jumps, lunge line exercises, depends upon the rider's skill level and interest.

Fun - When riders first venture into the equestrian world, they are looking for enjoyment; whether the rider is a young girl madly in love with horses or an adult looking for an activity for exercise and relaxation. We try to use a variety of exercises, during the riding lessons to ensure the riders want to come back for more!

Skill development - Each rider progresses at a different rate - it is important to ensure riding lessons challenge the rider to improve, but not so much that the rider is disheartened.

Fees:
.Group/Family Lesson Rates-1hr
$90.00 per month for the first rider and $75.00 for each additional rider in the same family. This is for 4 lessons, 1 per wk for a 4 wk program.
Riders in group lessons will be put in a lesson of equal or lower skill level
Group lessons may be purchased on an individual (instead of monthly basis). The cost for individual group lessons is $25.00. min.3 riders
30-40 min. Private Lessons Rates
The monthly cost for private lessons is $110.00 per month .(4 lessons) Private lessons may be purchased on an individual basis for the cost of $30.00. Each

Pony Club Riding Fees:

Pony Club Group lessons are available to PC members for the fee of $15.00 per rider in a group lesson. Min. 3 riders.

School Horse/Lesson: extra $10.00 on lesson fee.

Training ride : $35.00

Riding @ show: $20.00 per class or $50.00 for 3 classes

Coaching @ Local shows: $30.00 per day (within 50KM)

Coaching @ non local shows: $40.00 per day

Trailering Fees: $50.00 per hr.

EC RIDER TRAINING PROGRAM IS NOW ALLOWING CREDITS FOR HIGH SCHOOL- We are  pleased to encourage Equine Canada’s newly enhanced
English Rider Level 1-10 program. The EC learn to ride program was developed for individuals who wish to learn safe horsemanship and practices. The purpose of this program is to produce safe and knowledgeable horseman and to assist in the development of future instructors, coaches and lifetime enthusiasts. This is a national program, which rewards all riders, recreational to competitive, for advancing their learning. Certificates of Achievement and badges will be mailed directly from the Provincial Equestrian Federation to all successful English Rider Level candidates.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Education offers “External Credentials Program” which gives high school students the opportunity to earn graduation credits for sport learning through this approved process.

Stable Management Courses:
In addition, stable management courses are offered to riders and parents, to provide additional instruction on the care of horses. Some courses include: grooming, feeding, braiding, and horse health care etc. This information is crucial for any rider planning to own a horse in the future, or for horse owners wishing to further their knowledge.

Session 1- Grooming (purpose, tools, methods etc.)
Session 2 - Tack (fitting, types, cleaning, tacking up)
Session 3 - Lunging (methods, purpose, tack fitting etc.)
Session 4 - Show Prep. (trimming, bathing, turnout etc.)
Session 5- Bandaging (purpose, stable, shipping, polo, tail etc.)
Session 6- Mane Pulling, Braiding manes & tails

BOARDING AND TRAINING PACKAGES

We have a variety of training packages available tailored to the specific needs of horse and rider. We can design a package that works for you and your horse, inquire for details.

BOARD:

Full board- $250.00 includes good quality hay / grain / salt block

Partial Board- $200.00 you supply the feed we feed it.

TRAINING PACKAGES:

PKG. -1 Full Board and 4 training rides per week $775.00

PKG. -2 Full Board and 3 training rides per week $650.00

PKG. -3 Full Board and 2 training rides per week and 2 lessons $$750.00

We can custom design a training / lesson pkg. that works for both you and your equine partner.

STARTING YOUNG HORSES:

30 days (1 month) with full board- 6 days/wk. $1000.00

60 days (2 month) with full board- 5/6 days/wk $1800.00
